Sponsored by the Ministry of Public Security and co-organized by the National Television Station VTV, the National Data Association, the National Data Center, and Techcombank, the judging panel for the opening round includes esteemed figures such as Professor Dr. Hồ Tú Bảo (Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics); Prof. Chử Đức Trình (Rector of the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University); Associate Professor Dr. Đinh Ngọc Thạnh, Vice Chairman of the Global Network of Young Vietnamese Intellectuals and CTO of GFI Group (Australia); the young female professor Nguyễn Phi Lê (Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Application, Hanoi University of Science and Technology); and special guest judge, Miss Ngọc Hân.

Hosting the episodes are the dynamic duo, MC Khánh Vy and Ngọc Thịnh, familiar faces to television audiences nationwide through various intellectual game shows. The talented and charming ‘7-language hot girl’ alongside the VTV6 male host will guide viewers throughout the competition with their youthful and flexible presenting style.

‘A.I. Battlefield’ captivates television audiences by showcasing innovative AI solutions with high practical application potential, expected to be swiftly implemented in real-world scenarios. Moreover, viewers can directly engage in technological challenges within the show, such as composing music or creating comics using AI, enabling audiences of all ages and regions to gain a deeper understanding of artificial intelligence. This aligns with the goal of popularizing AI, integrating technology into daily life, and fostering digital literacy among citizens, as outlined in Resolution 57-NQ/TW on national digital transformation.

Sharing what motivated him to join ‘A.I. Battlefield,’ a participant from team MeddiesAI, who is also a student abroad, stated: “The application of AI is thriving in both professional and everyday life. Even in France, whether on the metro or at work, I see AI’s influence everywhere. Therefore, I sincerely hope the spirit of ‘A.I. Battlefield’ will resonate more strongly in Vietnam. Despite studying abroad, my heart always turns toward Vietnam. Upon learning about this competition, I was truly amazed by its national scale and organization.”

A unique aspect of ‘A.I. Battlefield’ is its inclusivity, welcoming even ‘non-specialist’ participants whose fields are not directly related to artificial intelligence. Driven by passion, unique perspectives, and the desire to venture into new territories, these contestants step out of their comfort zones to prove themselves, demonstrating that this platform is open to everyone.

From nearly 400 entries in the preliminary round, the judges selected 100 outstanding teams to advance to the final round. Here, the teams are divided into 10 groups, each tackling a specific theme. Each team receives $50 to utilize AI tools via APIs provided by the organizers and must develop a product that meets the judges’ criteria within a 120-minute time limit.

Ensuring smooth online judging and contest operations presents a significant challenge, not only for the participants but also for the organizers and judges. To address this, the program has developed a system to log the entire history of each team’s work. This allows judges to review, analyze, and evaluate performances fairly. Notably, all technological systems and contest formats were designed by Vietnamese engineers, underscoring Vietnam’s technological self-reliance and promoting the ‘Make in Vietnam’ spirit in the tech sector.

Mrs. Thái Minh Diễm Tú, Marketing Director at Techcombank, representing the co-organizer and exclusive sponsor, shared during the program’s introduction on November 22: “I was truly impressed by the teams’ practical approach and the solutions they developed within the 120-minute time constraint set by the organizers. Through ‘A.I. Battlefield,’ we aim to demonstrate that AI is not solely for tech experts. As a nationally significant program sponsored by the Ministry of Public Security, our goal is to create practical solutions for Vietnamese people. I believe every viewer will share the sentiment of AI’s accessibility in daily life and work.”

In the digital age, artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept but a core element in how we live, learn, work, and manage society. AI is transforming all sectors of the economy and society, playing a strategic role in enhancing national competitiveness. Vietnam stands at a golden opportunity to develop high-quality AI human resources, creating new avenues for AI talents to thrive and contribute during this new era of national advancement.

The program has garnered significant attention not only from domestic audiences and media but also from international journalists and tech publications across the region, all keenly following Vietnam’s strategic AI developments.

Tune in to ‘A.I. Battlefield’ every Wednesday and Saturday at 8:00 PM on VTV2, with replays on VTV3 at 9:00 AM on Mondays and Saturdays, and on VTV4 at 6:15 PM on Fridays and Sundays.
