On November 26, the Project Management Unit 85 (under the Ministry of Construction) is urgently addressing a landslide on Mimosa Pass (Xuân Hương Ward, Đà Lạt, Lâm Đồng). They are reinforcing the slope and temporarily resurfacing the road to ensure it reopens by November 29, 2025.

Project Management Unit 85 is expediting temporary road construction.

According to a representative from Project Management Unit 85, the unit has proposed to the Ministry of Construction to build an overpass at the landslide site on Mimosa Pass (Phase 2). The project will meet mountain road grade III standards, accommodate two lanes, and require an investment of approximately 30 billion VND. Construction is expected to take around four months.

“Constructing an overpass will reduce the road’s curvature and enhance safety by anchoring deep pile foundations into the negative slope, compared to the less stable road embankment,” stated the representative from Project Management Unit 85.

Previously, heavy rainfall from November 18 caused the entire negative slope between Km 226+600 and Km 226+800 on Mimosa Pass to sink and slide downstream. By November 20, the road’s foundation and surface had completely fractured and collapsed, creating a 30-meter-deep crater and sliding approximately 50 meters toward the negative slope, severing Mimosa Pass entirely.

In response, the Minister of Construction declared a state of emergency due to natural disaster, authorizing immediate repairs on Mimosa Pass as part of the project to upgrade the route through Mimosa Pass and other structures on National Highway 20 in Lâm Đồng Province.
