On the morning of November 27th, Mr. Bùi Văn Lương, Member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Vice Chairman of the Thái Nguyên Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a meeting to assess the land clearance progress for the Yên Bình 3 Industrial Zone (IZ) project. The meeting was attended by representatives from relevant departments, local authorities, and the project investor.

The Yên Bình 3 IZ project, developed by BMK Group, spans 295.34 hectares with a total investment of VND 4,139.39 billion, including VND 620.9 billion contributed by the investor. Strategically located 2 km from the Hanoi-Thái Nguyên Expressway, 1.5 km from Hanoi’s Ring Road 5, 35 km from Noi Bai Airport, 145 km from Lạng Sơn Border Gate, and 160 km from Hai Phong Port, the project is poised to become a new industrial growth hub in Thái Nguyên Province. It focuses on high-tech industries, electronics, telecommunications, supporting industries, precision mechanics, and deep processing.

According to reports, the project affects 1,348 households, including 700 requiring resettlement and approximately 700 graves needing relocation. This makes it one of the province’s largest land clearance projects. To date, significant progress has been made: over 200 hectares have been surveyed, compensation plans for several areas have been approved and payments disbursed, and in the priority zone of nearly 60 hectares, land, housing, and grave surveys are nearly complete, with an increasing number of households agreeing to compensation.

However, overall progress remains slower than expected. Large areas are yet to be surveyed or approved for compensation, many households have not received payments, and some in the priority zone remain uncooperative. The primary challenge is the incomplete resettlement land fund, delaying resident relocation and directly impacting land handover for construction.

In response, Vice Chairman Bùi Văn Lương directed agencies, units, and localities to review tasks, prioritize resolving survey challenges, finalize legal documents, and approve compensation and resettlement plans. He emphasized the need for continued public outreach to build consensus. Departments must collaborate closely, address issues promptly, and, if necessary, enforce land recovery measures as per regulations. The investor is required to commence construction upon land receipt, ensuring infrastructure progress as committed. The province aims to hand over approximately 50 hectares by December 2025, paving the way for comprehensive infrastructure development.
