According to the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the investor of Component Project 2—facilities for air traffic management at Long Thanh International Airport—a “20 Days to the Finish Line” competition has been launched for Component Project 2.

As reported by Dong Nai Provincial Portal, this initiative aims to ensure the project’s timely completion, enabling technical flights and finalizing all components by December 19, 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister.

Mr. Le Hoang Minh, Chairman of VATM’s Board of Directors, emphasized that Component Project 2 is a critical link in the national air traffic control system. VATM has mandated strict adherence to schedules, quality, and safety standards, viewing the “20 Days to the Finish Line” campaign as the final push to meet commitments.

VATM has instructed contractors to implement immediate incentives for workers, ensuring extended shifts and efficient production while safeguarding labor safety and health. Teams are required to closely monitor progress, promptly resolving bottlenecks in key phases.

On November 24, VATM convened with relevant agencies to review preparations for the first technical flight at Long Thanh Airport on December 19, 2025. The Air Traffic Control Division was tasked with consolidating feedback and collaborating with the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board and Southern Air Traffic Management Company to finalize the progress schedule for approval.

Located in Long Thanh District (Dong Nai), Long Thanh International Airport spans nearly 5,000 hectares with a total investment of $16 billion (over VND 336.6 trillion).

Designed to handle 100 million passengers and 25 million tons of cargo annually, it will become Vietnam’s largest and most technologically advanced airport upon completion.

The airport meets ICAO’s 4F standards—the highest rating—allowing operations of the world’s largest aircraft, including the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747-8.

Per the Prime Minister’s directive, the project remains on track for substantial completion by December 19, 2025. Long Thanh Airport has set a record with eight inspections by the Prime Minister in three years, the latest on August 2.
