Vietnam’s luxury real estate and golf tourism market has reached a significant milestone with TGR Design, the design firm of golf legend Tiger Woods, confirming its involvement in crafting a golf course at Vinhomes Green Paradise (Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City).
This marks the first time the “Super Tiger” has directly designed a golf course in Vietnam, establishing his personal brand’s presence in Southeast Asia’s high-end real estate segment.
Named West – Sunset, the course is part of a 36-hole golf complex spanning 155 hectares, a key component of the 2,870-hectare reclaimed urban area. The course boasts a prime location with a seaside frontage and adjacency to 75,000 hectares of UNESCO-recognized mangrove forests.
TGR Design representatives stated that West – Sunset’s design draws inspiration from Can Gio’s vibrant sunset hues, leveraging the natural terrain to create challenging sand traps and wind directions.
Technically, constructing the course on reclaimed land presented complex foundation challenges. Developers employed advanced Dutch land treatment technology, similar to that used in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, to ensure terrain stability.
Tiger Woods’ design philosophy emphasizes flexibility, catering to both amateur and professional golfers for an optimal experience.
Like Woods’ successful projects at Bluejack National (Texas) and Payne’s Valley (Missouri), West – Sunset is expected to enhance the value of surrounding luxury properties, particularly golf-adjacent villas.
Joining Woods is Robert Trent Jones II, another golf design luminary, who will create the East – Sunrise course. This course will feature a classic Scottish style with signature template greens.
The collaboration of these two industry leaders underscores the developer’s ambition to position Can Gio as a premier golf tourism destination in the region.
As the luxury real estate sector seeks new growth drivers, Tiger Woods’ involvement is seen as a strategic move to attract international investment and tourists.
According to Mordor Intelligence’s 2025 report, Vietnam’s golf-linked luxury real estate segment is growing at a 14.15% CAGR. The Can Gio project, with Woods’ involvement, not only completes the urban area’s amenities but also elevates Vietnam’s global golf tourism standing.
