The 2026 Toyota Corolla officially unveiled in Europe, as reported by Carscoops.
The exterior design of the Toyota Corolla has been refreshed for a more youthful and modern appeal.
The most significant update in this upgrade is the introduction of a new exterior paint color. For the first time, Toyota offers a matte Onyx Grey finish, exclusively available for the GR Sport and Touring Sports variants.
This strategic move differentiates the product, giving the vehicle a more distinctive and edgy appearance. The matte finish creates a sharp, bold look. The Onyx Grey option will debut in the UK by year-end, with other European markets following shortly after.
Two additional new paint colors have been introduced to attract a broader customer base.
Another new color, Storm Grey metallic, has been added to both hatchback and sedan models. This metallic finish enhances the vehicle’s premium look.
The interior of the 2026 Toyota Corolla has also received subtle enhancements. Toyota has introduced Samara fabric, a durable and eco-friendly material made from recycled resources, for the seat backs and cushions.
This upgrade improves both aesthetics and durability in the cabin. The Samara fabric is featured in the Mid grade and Touring Sports variants.
Notably, the Mid+ Sedan variant boasts a unique Samara seat design, setting it apart from other models. The use of recycled materials aligns with the automotive industry’s growing focus on sustainability.
Technically, the Toyota Corolla remains largely unchanged, retaining its 1.8L and 2.0L hybrid engine options.
The 1.8L engine delivers 138 horsepower, while the 2.0L engine produces 178 horsepower. The 2026 model sees a 15 horsepower reduction, though Toyota has not yet provided an official explanation for this change.
All 2026 Corolla models come equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense suite and support over-the-air software updates, ensuring the vehicle stays up-to-date with the latest features.
Additionally, all variants feature a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, also found in the premium GR Corolla model.
Previously, in late November, Toyota unveiled the 2026 Corolla sedan in China. This version draws design inspiration from the Camry and the iconic Prius hybrid.

In Vietnam, the Toyota Corolla is known as the Corolla Altis, priced between 725 million and 878 million VND.
The Corolla Altis was the first Toyota model distributed in Vietnam, debuting in 1996. It has since become a staple in the market, with nearly three decades of presence.
The Toyota Corolla Altis was once a symbol in the C-segment sedan category. From 2008 to 2013, it was among the most popular models, consistently leading in sales.
However, in recent years, consumer preference has shifted toward SUVs, diminishing the Corolla Altis’s market dominance.
