First Honda Dream NCX 2026 Arrives in Vietnam: Priced Over 100 Million VND, Equivalent to Two SH Models

Despite sharing a similar price point to the SH125i and SH350i in Vietnam, the Honda Dream NCX 2026 carves out its own unique niche, attracting a distinct customer base.

A private motorcycle importer in Tay Ninh has just introduced the first batch of the 2026 Honda Dream NCX in Vietnam, available in three colors: black, blue, and red, priced at over 100 million VND. This price is equivalent to two Honda SH125i units or comparable to the Honda SH350i distributed officially in Vietnam. The bikes are imported from Cambodia.

The importer explains that the high price is due to the Honda Dream NCX’s popularity in Cambodia for its durability and practicality, where it already sells for 75 million VND. Additional taxes and fees in Vietnam further increase the cost.

Despite the high price, demand for the Honda Dream NCX in the Southern region is strong. Previously, the 2024 and 2025 models were priced between 120-130 million VND, but by October-November 2025, prices surged to 150-160 million VND due to limited supply. Given the strong demand, the importer has brought in the 2026 model. To date, they have received 5-6 pre-orders for the Dream NCX 2026.

The Honda Dream is a legendary motorcycle not only in Vietnam but also across Southeast Asia. In the early 1990s, Thai-imported Dreams were priced at nearly 10 taels of gold. By December 1997, the bike was assembled in Vietnam under the name “Super Dream.” The Honda Dream was once the dream of many Vietnamese.

In 2017, the Honda Dream was officially discontinued in Vietnam due to non-compliance with government emission standards. Since then, new versions of the Dream are only available through private importers, catering to a niche market of middle-aged, affluent customers.

The 2026 Honda Dream NCX is an evolution of the “short Dream” model, featuring a smoother and more youthful design compared to the boxy Dream II. The 2026 version includes upgraded LED headlights, yellow-platinum decals with Romdoul flower patterns (Cambodia’s national flower), and an analog display showing speed, ODO, gear, and fuel level.

The seat height is only 751 mm, with a flat design for easy mounting and a comfortable riding position. The wide handlebars and balanced footrests enhance stability. The reinforced steel frame is coated with rust protection to withstand Southeast Asia’s humid climate.

This step-through bike measures 1,868 mm in length, 697 mm in width, and 1,051 mm in height, with a 1,200 mm wheelbase and a weight of 98 kg. It features 17-inch spoked wheels and drum brakes on both wheels. While it lacks disc brakes or a CBS system, its braking system is easy to maintain and retains a classic look. The rear dual shock absorbers are adjustable for one or two riders.

The engine is a 125cc single-cylinder, air-cooled unit with a PGM-FI fuel injection system. The 4-speed gearbox and CD-i ignition system ensure easy starting, smooth operation, and stability.
