The deal’s value reaches up to 150 billion VND, which is significant compared to Duc Thanh Wood’s total assets of nearly 531 billion VND.

On the day the information was announced, the stock price of GDT rose by nearly 0.5%, while the VN-Index increased by 0.3%.

Investing in factory rentals has been a strategy pursued by Duc Thanh Wood’s leadership in recent years. At the Annual General Meeting on April 19, 2025, Chairwoman Le Hai Lieu stated that the company needs to generate additional revenue, given the challenges in its core business of wood processing and export due to a difficult consumer market.

In 2024, Duc Thanh Wood invested nearly 160 billion VND in Factory Zone No. 6 and signed a lease agreement with a wood manufacturer. At the annual meeting, Ms. Lieu mentioned that all factory projects were carefully selected by the team, with low purchase prices during a period of low bank interest rates.

The company’s Chairwoman emphasized that this strategy secures shareholders’ funds in properties with fully legal factories and provides a steady cash flow from existing tenants.

Notably, Duc Thanh Wood’s leaders previously hinted at a factory acquisition deal covering 12 hectares, valued at approximately 400 billion VND. However, no further announcements regarding this transaction have been made to date.
