In 2017, construction began on the 5.5 km Ring Road 3.5 project in the former Hoai Duc district, with a total investment of approximately 1.8 trillion VND, overseen by the district’s People’s Committee.
According to the investor, the project’s delays were primarily due to land clearance issues, particularly at the Vuon Chuoi archaeological site in Kim Chung commune.
Currently, the entire section from Thang Long Avenue to National Highway 32 is nearly complete. Barriers at the Ring Road 3.5 site have been removed, allowing vehicles to pass through despite the road not being officially opened.
The road is being prepared to connect with the interchange between Ring Road 3.5 and Thang Long Avenue.
Contractors are actively working on the final foundation section of the road connecting to Thang Long Avenue, with machinery and labor in full operation.
Six months after commencement, the construction of the interchange between Ring Road 3.5 and Thang Long Avenue has entered the tunneling phase.
This location will house the interchange, with a total investment exceeding 2.45 trillion VND, including an underpass and connecting ramps.
The interchange plays a crucial role in linking urban transportation routes with the vital western highway network of the capital.
Despite barriers erected by contractors to restrict access at the connection point with Thang Long Avenue, many vehicles continue to navigate through the construction site.
Upon completion, the project will facilitate connectivity between the northern and southern banks of the Red River, fostering economic and social development while enhancing the city’s master plan.
