The event was organized by the Vietnam Women’s Union in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation across 34 provinces and cities nationwide.
At the conference, Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) was honored with a Certificate of Merit for its outstanding contributions to the “Supporting Women’s Startups 2017-2025” initiative.
For many years, SHB has been a steadfast partner to female entrepreneurs, empowering women on their startup journeys. In 2023, SHB supported the Women’s Startup Contest organized by the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee, themed “Women’s Startups: Leveraging Local Resources.” This was a key activity under the “Supporting Women’s Startups 2017-2025” initiative, approved by the Prime Minister and implemented since 2018. SHB provided funding to help bring the winning project to life. Moving forward, the bank will continue to offer consulting support and tailored financial solutions to ensure these projects thrive sustainably over the long term.

In 2024, the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee launched a contest themed “Innovative and Green Transition Women’s Startups,” aiming to identify outstanding projects aligned with the green transition and the National Green Growth Strategy 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. SHB joined as a Silver Sponsor for this national-level event series and final awards ceremony.
Additionally, to help women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (WSMEs) recover and stabilize operations post-COVID-19, SHB partnered with ADB in late 2021 to implement the “COVID-19 Impact Mitigation for WSMEs” program. Notably, SHB disbursed the highest WSME loan amount among the five participating banks, totaling 1.7 million USD.
In March 2023, SHB signed a 120 million USD credit agreement with IFC to develop its SME loan portfolio, prioritizing women-led businesses and those in supply chains. SHB committed to allocating at least 37.5% of the loan value to women-led enterprises and received a 226,000 USD grant from the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) and the Women Entrepreneurs Opportunity Facility (WEOF), global initiatives aimed at expanding capital access for women entrepreneurs.
