On December 10th, during the 8th session of the 10th term of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council, a resolution was passed approving the investment policy for the Dong Nai 2 Bridge (Long Hung Bridge) project. This initiative will be implemented through a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Spanning approximately 9.8 kilometers, the Dong Nai 2 Bridge will connect Long Phuoc Ward (Ho Chi Minh City) to the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway at Tam Phuoc Ward and An Phuoc Commune (Dong Nai Province). The bridge itself will be 3.5 kilometers long, with a 36-meter cross-section and a design speed of 80 km/h. Construction is scheduled for 2026-2028.

The project’s total investment is nearly 11.5 trillion VND, financed through a PPP scheme under a Build-Transfer (BT) contract. Funding will be sourced from public land auctions or public investment capital.

Classified as a Group A project and a special-class road bridge, the Dong Nai 2 Bridge will be tendered to investors under special conditions due to its urgency. The project aims to strengthen connectivity between Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, alleviate congestion on existing routes, and support infrastructure needs once the Long Thanh International Airport becomes operational.

This initiative is expected to drive economic growth, urban development, and enhance the competitiveness of Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, and the broader region.
