Unveiling Vietnam’s Largest Urban Development Project in Quang Ninh

Alongside the nation's efforts, Quang Ninh is set to contribute approximately 40 projects, with groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies scheduled for December 19th. Notable among these are the Ha Long Xanh Complex Urban Area, boasting the largest investment capital in the country at nearly $18 billion, and the Quang Ninh LNG Power Plant in Cuong Ong Ward, with a total investment exceeding $2.2 billion.

These projects span critical sectors such as transportation, healthcare, education, urban development, industry, and agriculture. They are expected to further enhance infrastructure, expand development space, and drive new growth for the province in the coming period.

Notably, among the groundbreaking projects are several large-scale initiatives with total investments reaching tens of billion USD. A prime example is the Ha Long Xanh Complex Urban Area, the largest capital project in the country, with a total investment of nearly 18 billion USD and an area of over 4,100 hectares in Tuan Chau and Ha An Wards.

The Quang Ninh LNG Power Plant in Cuong Ong Ward has a total investment of over 2.2 billion USD; the High-End Integrated Tourism Service Project in Van Don Special Economic Zone, invested by Sun Group, with a total capital of over 2 billion USD; and the Monbay Van Don Integrated Resort, Entertainment, Golf Course, and Residential Complex, with a total investment of nearly 1 billion USD.

The group of groundbreaking projects also includes several key transportation infrastructure works, such as: The Northwest Coastal Road of Cua Luc Bay (8.3 km long), with an investment of approximately 2,525 billion VND; the extended Coastal Road from Tran Quoc Nghien to Cau Bang (7.4 km), with an investment of approximately 2,590 billion VND; the upgrade of National Highway 4B (22.9 km), with an investment of approximately 1,800 billion VND; and the road through Song Khoai Industrial Park connecting Ha Long – Hai Phong Expressway to Dong Trieu (6.5 km), with a total investment of approximately 1,239 billion VND, all funded by the state budget.

Alongside economic infrastructure, Quang Ninh has also initiated several key projects in healthcare and education, including: The Outpatient Department of Quang Ninh Provincial General Hospital (1,250 billion VND); the expansion and upgrade of Vietnam-Sweden Hospital (1,540 billion VND); the expansion of Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital (646 billion VND); and the construction of Bai Chay High School in Bai Chay Ward (260 billion VND).

Among the inaugurated projects are Bach Dang High School in Hiep Hoa Ward (232 billion VND); the renovation and construction of Dong Trieu Medical Center (390 billion VND); and the Storm Shelter for Fishing Boats on Co To Island, Co To Special Zone (659 billion VND), contributing to the completion of civil infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.
