The People’s Committee of Mang Den Commune, Quang Ngai Province, announced the successful auction of 40 residential land plots located along central roads within the commune. The auction generated nearly 270 billion VND, surpassing the starting price by approximately 46 billion VND, with an average winning bid of around 6.75 billion VND per plot.

The total area of the auctioned land exceeded 8,500 square meters, with individual plots ranging from 178 to 385 square meters. The combined starting price for all 40 plots was set at over 223 billion VND.

The auction was organized by the Project Management Board and Public Services of Mang Den Commune in collaboration with Dong Duong Partnership Auction Company (Gia Lai). It was conducted through an indirect bidding process at the auction site, following the upward bidding method as stipulated.

According to the Mang Den Commune People’s Committee, the revenue from this land auction will significantly contribute to the local budget, while also providing resources to efficiently utilize land funds for infrastructure development and socio-economic goals in the near future.

Prior to its merger, Kon Tum was a province located in the northern part of the Central Highlands. Mang Den is a township in Kon Plong District, Kon Tum Province, approximately 60 km from Kon Tum City, and is often referred to as the “Second Da Lat” of the Central Highlands.

During the 2020-2021 period, Mang Den experienced a land price surge, leading to numerous violations in land management and housing construction. In 2023, the Inspection Department of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Kon Tum Province (now the Department of Agriculture and Environment) recommended the reclamation of 151 cases, covering over 102,000 square meters, which had been allocated for management without proper land use fees, in violation of regulations.
