Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has announced that the proposed merger of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will be discussed at the Central Committee meeting in January 2025. If approved, the merger will then be put forward to the National Assembly for ratification in February 2025, with the official merger taking place thereafter.

The Tan Ky Tan Quy Road upgrade and expansion project in Binh Tan District has reached a major milestone, with 100% of the construction work now complete. The expanded 30-meter-wide road, located at the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City's west, is set to open to traffic on the morning of December 30, facilitating smoother travel and boosting connectivity in the area.

On December 31st, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee for Corruption, Waste, and Negative Behavior Prevention and Control (the Committee) held its 27th meeting to discuss and evaluate the Committee's performance in 2024 and outline its work program for 2025. The meeting also focused on the results of the Committee's supervision and handling of cases and incidents under its jurisdiction in 2024, along with other significant issues.
