As the economy enters the 2026-2030 phase, Vietnam’s banking system faces a pivotal threshold in its next growth cycle, according to experts. Within this landscape, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) are no longer solely tied to resolving underperforming banks but have evolved into a strategic tool for repositioning competitive capabilities, bolstering financial resources, integrating advanced technology, and adopting international governance standards.

Over the past week, domestic gold prices surged dramatically, setting new record highs. Gold bars saw a uniform increase of 7 million VND per tael, while gold rings experienced an even more significant jump, rising by over 8 million VND per tael at select brands.

At the close of trading, the VN-Index climbed 9.43 points (+0.5%) to reach 1,877.33, while the HNX-Index rose 4.78 points (+1.93%) to 251.88. Market breadth favored the bulls, with 480 advancing stocks outpacing 250 decliners. Similarly, the VN30 basket saw a dominant green trend, with 23 gainers and only 7 losers.
