The Vietnamese stock market has reached a pivotal moment in its journey towards recognition as a leading emerging market. With the recent advancements and meeting the criteria set by FTSE Russell for an upgrade from frontier to emerging market status in their September 2025 review, the focus now shifts to attaining the prestigious recognition from MSCI.

In a recent development, Vietnamese businessman Bầu Đức offloaded 25 million HAG shares, while his son snapped up 27 million shares through a negotiated deal. This transaction coincided with HAG shares reaching a 10-year high and officially exiting the warning zone after nearly three years.

Effective August 1, 2024, a land-use rights transfer that does not comply with legal regulations but bears the signatures of relevant parties must be accompanied by documentation of land-use rights as stipulated by law. This applies to transfers that occurred prior to the aforementioned date and have not yet received their red book certification.
