Businesses ramped up production to meet export demands ahead of anticipated higher U.S. tariffs, while increased mining and electricity generation in recent months were the primary drivers behind the double-digit growth in the industrial production index for Q3/2025. The index is estimated to have risen by 10.0% year-on-year in Q3/2025; for the first nine months of 2025, it is projected to have increased by 9.1% compared to the same period last year. Within this, the manufacturing sector saw a 10.4% rise, marking the highest growth rate since 2020.

According to the Vietnam Aviation Authority, preparations for the first technical flight at Long Thanh International Airport are being expedited by the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Aviation Authority, and relevant units, ensuring timely completion as per the planned schedule of December 19th.

In September, the total trade turnover of goods reached $82.49 billion, marking a 0.7% decrease compared to the previous month but a significant 24.8% increase year-over-year. For the first nine months of 2025, the cumulative trade turnover stood at $680.66 billion, reflecting a 17.3% growth compared to the same period last year. Within this, exports rose by 16.0%, while imports increased by 18.8%. The trade balance recorded a surplus of $16.82 billion.
