The government has requested that the State Bank of Vietnam proactively undertake research, evaluation, and forecasting within the scope of its functions, tasks, and authority. This includes developing monetary policy scenarios and orientations from now until the end of 2025 and for 2026. A report is to be submitted to the Government's Standing Committee for consideration and feedback no later than August 20, 2025.

"Vietnam is among the fastest-growing digital payment markets in the region. According to the State Bank of Vietnam, the value of cashless transactions in 2024 was 26 times the GDP, with 87% of the adult population having access to financial services. With this backdrop, superficial improvements are not enough to create a sustainable competitive advantage."

The National Assembly's recent passage of the Resolution amending and supplementing several articles of the Constitution and the Law on Organization of Local Government (amended) sets the stage for transformative changes in Vietnam's administrative landscape. In the coming days, the National Assembly Standing Committee will issue 34 resolutions on the rearrangement of communal-level administrative units, paving the way for a more streamlined and efficient local government structure.
