Bank Pays Lunar New Year Bonuses to Staff, Many Receive 4.5 Months’ Salary

This morning, on February 2, 2024 (or the 23rd of the twelfth month on the lunar calendar), a bank headquartered in Dong Da District, Hanoi, rewarded its employees for the Lunar New Year. Many individuals received bonuses equivalent to 4.5 months' salary, while some received even more. Everyone was rewarded without exception.


Bank Tet bonus is always of interest to the market as it is a field with attractive bonus levels at the end of the year.

On the morning of February 2, 2024 (or the 23rd day of Chạp lunar month), a bank headquartered in Dong Da District, Hanoi, offered Tet bonuses to its employees, typically equivalent to 2-3 months’ salary, with some receiving 4.5 months or even more.

Specifically, the bank is divided into two departments: the business department and the back office department. In the back office department, employees are ranked into categories E, S, A+, A, B, with corresponding bonus levels. For example, those in category E receive a bonus equivalent to 4.5 months’ salary, while category S receives 4 months’ bonus. The lowest bonus is given to those in category B, which is equivalent to 1 month’s salary.

As for the business department, Tet bonuses are calculated based on business revenue and performance against targets. According to a bank executive, some departments have achieved outstanding results compared to the back office department, meaning that the highest bonus in the business department is significantly higher than the 4-5 months’ bonus in the back office. However, there are also departments that did not meet their targets and thus received lower bonuses. The important thing is that everyone in the bank receives a bonus, “everyone is happy” – the executive added.

In addition, on the morning of February 2, the bank’s labor union also sent a letter to all employees regarding Tet gifts for union members. According to the letter, each employee will receive an additional 1 million VND, and those who have worked for less than 6 months (until January 31, 2024) will receive 500,000 VND. This union payment will be made before February 7, 2024.

It is known that in the past year 2023, this bank has had favorable business performance with its core business areas and indicators improving compared to the previous year, especially the high growth of service-related profits compared to the overall market trends.
