During that time period, approximately 37 flights were unable to land at Noi Bai airport, with 12 flights diverting to nearby airports. Meanwhile, in order to ensure safety, 54 scheduled flights departing from Noi Bai had to delay their takeoff time to wait for better weather.

Noi Bai International Airport has activated operating procedures under conditions of limited visibility. “We kindly ask for passengers’ understanding and compliance with the instructions of aviation personnel to ensure flight security and safety,” a representative from Noi Bai airport said.

Heavy fog is a common occurrence in Hanoi and the Northern provinces of Vietnam around February-March. Aviation units are always prepared with contingency plans for limited visibility conditions to ensure safe flight operations.
