On January 29, according to sources, the Economic Police Department of Hanoi City announced that they have urgently arrested Ms. Pham Thi Hoa (Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Sen Tai Thu Joint Stock Company) and her two daughters, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh and Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, on charges of fraud and misappropriation of assets.

According to authorities, the suspects knew that Sen Tai Thu Company had a significant amount of outstanding debt and was unable to pay. However, from 2018 to May 2023, they took advantage of the reputable health care brand of Sen Tai Thu, inflated the registered capital, and reported false revenue and profits to illegally raise funds.
Preliminary investigations have identified approximately 100 fundraising contracts, with a total value of around 1,000 billion VND.
It is known that Sen Tai Thu was established in 1992 as the Sen Tai Thu Health Care Center – Central Acupuncture Hospital. The company has 8 facilities in Hanoi, Thai Binh, and Da Nang, specializing in health care through traditional medicine therapies.
