Mr. Tran Tuan Anh resigns from the position of National Assembly Representative

The National Assembly Standing Committee has decided to relieve Mr. Tran Tuan Anh of his duties as a Member of the 15th National Assembly.

On February 5, the National Assembly Standing Committee held a meeting to consider and give opinions on the resignation of Deputy Tran Tuan Anh of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Delegation, the 1st electoral unit of Khanh Hoa Province.

Resolution No. 972 of the National Assembly Standing Committee regarding the resignation of Deputy Tran Tuan Anh has also been issued.

Earlier, on January 30, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh submitted a letter to resign from the position of Deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

On January 30, the 13th Central Committee Executive Board held a meeting and agreed to release Mr. Tran Tuan Anh from the position of member of the Politburo, member of the 13th Central Committee.

Mr. Tran Tuan Anh is a high-ranking official of the Party and the State, being fundamentally trained and trusted by the Party Central Committee’s Executive Board and the Politburo to hold important leadership positions. In the position of Secretary of the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Party Affairs, Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the 2016 – 2021 term, he has made many efforts in directing and managing the work of the Industry and Trade sector, achieving important results.

However, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh takes political responsibility as the head of the Ministry when there have been numerous violations at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with many officials and Party members violating laws and being subject to criminal, disciplinary, and administrative sanctions. With a clear understanding of his responsibility to the Party and the people, he has submitted a letter to resign from the assigned positions, go on leave, and retire from work.

Mr. Tran Tuan Anh was born on April 6, 1964; hometown in Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province; doctorate degree in Economics, bachelor’s degree in International Relations.

He is a member of the 13th Politburo, member of the 12th and 13th Central Committee, and Deputy of the 14th and 15th National Assemblies.

Prior to being appointed by the Politburo as the Head of the Central Economic Committee from February 2021 until now, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh served as the Minister of Industry and Trade.
