Phu Quoc welcomes over 1,000 international tourists at the beginning of the new year – VTV.VN
On the morning of February 2nd, the 5-star cruise ship Costa Serena brought over 1,100 international tourists to visit the city of Phu Quoc in Kien Giang province. After going through the immigration procedures until about 9 am, the first group of tourists set foot on the island of Phu Quoc at the beginning of the Year of the Wood Horse, 2024.
Phu Quoc tourism is always attractive to international visitors
International guests will visit and shop at famous tourist spots on the island such as the Night Market in Phu Quoc, the Kissing Bridge in the town of Hoang Hon, and the Grand World Phu Quoc. They can also buy local specialties and souvenirs. Tourists will return to the ship at 6 pm the same day and move on to other destinations.
In January 2024, Kien Giang expects to welcome 790,435 visitors. The number of international tourists arriving by sea is increasing. On February 9th, Phu Quoc will receive the Aida Bella cruise ship with about 2,100 international tourists on board. In 2024 and early 2025, there are 4 registered cruise ships that will bring thousands of international tourists to visit and have fun by sea.
To meet the needs of international tourists coming to the island by sea, in 2024, the Phu Quoc International Passenger Terminal will be temporarily put into operation, contributing to facilitating 5-star cruise ships to dock and easily transport around 3,000-4,000 passengers.
