Prime Minister holds meeting with 19 corporations, conglomerates to boost investments, manufacturing, and business.

On the morning of 5th February, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a working conference with the State Capital Management Committee for enterprises and 19 corporations and groups under its management to discuss the implementation of production and business activities in 2024 and promote investment for economic and social development.

The working session was attended by Comrade Le Minh Khai, a member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government; comrades who are members of the Party Central Committee: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises Nguyen Hoang Anh; leaders of central ministries, agencies, and organizations.

Opening the session, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh clearly stated that the conference aims to evaluate the activities of the Committee and the groups, corporations, and state-owned companies in 2023, as well as the tasks and solutions for implementing production and business activities in 2024 and promoting investment for socio-economic development.

Summarizing the important and positive achievements of 2023, Prime Minister emphasized two very important points: First, the trust of the people in the Party and the State has been consolidated and strengthened; second, the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved. The achievements and results of the whole country in 2023 have contributed to the efforts of the Committee and the groups, corporations, and state-owned companies.

Although the 19 groups and corporations account for only a small proportion of more than 820 state-owned enterprises in our country, they are an important material force of the state’s economy, holding the majority of the total capital and total assets of state-owned enterprises nationwide, and making important contributions to promoting economic development and realizing progress, equity, and social justice.

Prime Minister pointed out that the tasks for 2024 are bigger than those for 2023 and must be better fulfilled than those for 2023. In order for the government to accomplish its tasks better than in 2023, each ministry, sector, group, and corporation must do better.

In 2024, the groups and corporations must invest more. Prime Minister suggested that the delegates focus on discussing, giving opinions, and maximizing collective intelligence to identify the orientations, solutions, and key tasks for the Committee and the groups, corporations in implementing the 2024 socio-economic development plan, especially the investment development tasks.

According to the program, after the report of the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises on the operation in 2023, the implementation of production and business activities in 2024, and the promotion of investment for socio-economic development, the conference will hear from enterprises, ministries, and sectors to clarify the key issues, tasks, and solutions for the coming time, propose specific short-term, medium-term, and long-term solutions associated with the responsibilities of specific agencies and units and the time limit for completion; simultaneously, propose a roadmap for amending and supplementing related institutions, mechanisms, policies, and laws. Leaders of ministries, sectors, and localities will exchange and clarify the issues raised, especially the proposals for amending institutions, promoting decentralization and delegation of authority.
