The Hanoi – Thai Nguyen Overpass Project started in July 2023, with a total investment of over VND 158 billion, implemented by the Project Management Board of Thai Nguyen City as the investor; the contractor is a joint venture between Thang Long Mechanical Construction Company and BDC Group Joint Stock Company.

The Hanoi – Thai Nguyen railway overpass has a total length of 620m, the starting point is Quang Trung Street, 272m from the railway; the end point is on Hoang Van Thu Street, 348m from the railway. The overpass consists of 6 composite steel box girder spans, with a width of 8.5m, the bridge deck is made of cast-in-place reinforced concrete, the bridge deck is paved with asphalt concrete, the design speed over the bridge is 40 km/h. In addition to the main bridge item, the project also includes other items such as sidewalks, curbs, median barriers, rainwater drainage system, lighting system…
In his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tue, Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen City People’s Committee, said that the Hanoi – Thai Nguyen railway overpass contributes significantly to completing the technical infrastructure of urban areas, reducing traffic congestion, reducing traffic conflicts at the intersection of Hoang Van Thu – Quang Trung – Viet Bac roads and the Hanoi – Thai Nguyen railway; at the same time, enhancing transportation connectivity, creating additional urban focal points for Thai Nguyen city…
