Recently, the BYD YangWang U7 super sedan model has been leaked with many performance-related specifications. Specifically, according to data published on the website of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the car uses 4 electric motors with a total output of 1,287 horsepower, which is higher than the Tesla Model S Plaid (1,025 horsepower) or the BMW M5 sports sedan (600 horsepower).

Powering the 4 electric motors is a 135.5 kWh battery pack weighing 900 kg, providing a range of 800 km on a full charge for the BYD YangWang U7. However, due to its heavy weight, this model can only achieve a top speed of 270 km/h, while the Tesla Model S Plaid can reach 322 km/h.

The exterior of the BYD YangWang U7 features a rounded design characteristic of high-performance electric vehicles to optimize aerodynamics. According to BYD, this car has an aerodynamic drag coefficient of only 0.195 Cd. The interior has not been revealed yet.

In terms of technology, the BYD YangWang U7 is expected to be equipped with a level 3 autonomous driving system with advanced sensors and Lidar. This is a level of autonomous driving that has not been widely applied by many car manufacturers globally and, if available, is also limited to specific locations with supported mapping.
