Gasoline prices spike by over 700 dong/liter on the 6th day of Tet, with RON95 inching closer to 24,000 dong/liter.

From 3:00 PM on February 15th (which is the 6th day of the Lunar New Year), the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline has increased by 711 dong/liter, while RON 95 gasoline has increased by 657 dong/liter.

The Ministry of Finance – Industry and Trade has just released information on the management of gasoline prices from 3:00 p.m. on February 15.

Accordingly, the Ministry has decided to increase VND 711/liter for E5 RON 92 gasoline to VND 22,831/liter; increase VND 657/liter for RON 95 gasoline to VND 23,919/liter. Similarly, the price of diesel oil increased by VND 654/liter to VND 21,361/liter; fuel oil increased by VND 633/liter to VND 21,221/liter; mazut oil increased by VND 308/kg to VND 15,906/kg.



At this management period, the Ministry criticized the establishment of a stabilization fund for mazut oil at VND 300/kg. The regulatory body does not establish or disburse a stabilization fund for all other types of petroleum products.

In the latest management period (on February 8), the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline was adjusted down by VND 790/liter to VND 22,120/liter. Price of RON 95 gasoline decreased by VND 900/liter to VND 23,260/liter. Diesel oil price decreased by VND 290/liter to VND 20,700/liter. Meanwhile, fuel oil decreased by VND 340/liter to VND 20,580/liter; mazut oil decreased by VND 490/kg to VND 15,590/kg.
