After the Lunar New Year holiday, many sellers are still disappointed with the sluggish market.

Although it is past the 10th day of the Lunar New Year, Quang An flower market in Tay Ho is still full of peach blossoms in the hope of clearing inventory after a year of sluggish peach blossom market.

Ms. Nguyen Tam Linh (46 years old, a seller at Quang An market): “This year, people’s purchasing power is only 1/10 of last year, so we still have to sell peach blossoms after Tet to make up for the losses”.

The price of peach blossom branches before Tet was 800,000-1,000,000 VND, but now it’s only 200,000-300,000 VND.

Mr. Vu Van Tien (65 years old, Hang Bac) said: “Today, I bought more peach blossoms to prepare for the 15th day of the first lunar month as well as to replace the old branches before Tet. I play with peach blossoms all year round, so I still buy them after Tet, and the price is even cheaper.”

Many sellers don’t have the ability to resell after Tet, so many peach blossom branches are left outside the garbage dump.
