Stock surges near historic peak, Viettel Post (VTP) finalizes “farewell” day on UPCoM exchange

After more than 5 years of being listed on UPCoM, the market capitalization of Viettel Post has increased by 180% compared to its initial value.

The Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) has announced the cancellation of trading registration for the shares of Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Post – VTP code). Accordingly, over 121.78 million VTP shares will have their last trading session on UPCoM on February 29 and their trading registration will be cancelled the next day to transfer to HoSE listing.

Prior to the exchange transfer news, VTP shares continuously surged, nearing their historical peak. Since the beginning of November 2023 to now, the stock price has increased by over 72%. The market capitalization of Viettel Post also rose to VND 8.4 trillion, 2.7 times higher than the same period last year.

Viettel Post has a charter capital of nearly VND 1,218 billion and is a member of the Military Industry and Telecommunications group (Viettel). Viettel Post listed its shares on UPCoM on November 23, 2018 with the stock code VTP. The opening price in the first trading session of VTP was VND 68,000 per share, equivalent to a valuation of nearly VND 3,000 billion. Thus, after more than 5 years of listing, Viettel Post’s market capitalization has increased by 180% compared to the initial period.

In terms of business performance in 2023, Viettel Post recorded revenue of VND 19,732 billion, a decrease of 9% compared to 2022. However, the cost decrease contributed to a strong gross profit increase of 35%, reaching nearly VND 876 billion. After deducting expenses, Viettel Post’s net profit exceeded VND 380 billion, an increase of 49% compared to 2022.

In the next 5 years, Viettel Post aims to increase its sales volume by 10 times compared to 2023, equivalent to a growth rate of 60-65% per year for both core and new activities. Being a pioneer in logistics technology in Vietnam gives Viettel Post a better competitive advantage. This creates favorable conditions for Viettel Post to take the next step of “Go Global” to expand and build cross-border logistics infrastructure, making Vietnam a logistics center in the region and the world.
