On February 27, the People’s Committee of Ninh Thuan Province issued a correction notice regarding information about the social housing development fund in the province and stated that it has implemented the planning of 18 land areas with a scale of 67.2 hectares for social housing.
This action was taken by the People’s Committee of Ninh Thuan Province after receiving report No. 23 dated February 5, 2024 from the Ministry of Construction regarding the implementation of the project “Investment in the construction of at least 1 million social housing units for low-income people and workers in industrial zones in the period 2021-2030”. According to this report, Ninh Thuan is one of the few localities that have not planned and allocated land for social housing.
However, through review, the People’s Committee of Ninh Thuan Province announced that the resolutions and decisions of the Provincial People’s Committee and People’s Council have been issued to determine the total floor area target of the province’s housing until 2030 to reach about 21,473,240 square meters (an increase of about 5,438,471 square meters). Among them, the area of social housing is about 183,871 square meters.
According to the People’s Committee of Ninh Thuan Province, 8 apartment buildings and social housing projects with a total of 1,796 units have been completed on the province’s territory, essentially meeting the needs of the people. Currently, the province is organizing wide-scale bidding to select investors to implement a social housing project in the Thanh Hai resettlement area with an area of 1.91 hectares and about 1,155 units, expected to commence construction in 2024. There are also some social housing projects within new urban areas that have been approved for investment and are about to be implemented, such as social housing projects within the Dam Ca Na new urban area, social housing projects within the Bo Song Dinh new urban area, etc.
The People’s Committee of Ninh Thuan Province also stated that it has issued a plan to complete 6,561 social housing units by 2030, focusing on 10 projects (including 1 independent social housing project and 9 social housing construction investment projects using 20% of the total land area of commercial housing, urban areas designated for investment in social housing) with a total land area of about 26.09 hectares. Up to now, a total of 18 land areas with a scale of 67.2 hectares have been planned and allocated for social housing on the province’s territory.
