Domus is a prestigious design and architecture magazine in the world. Every year, the magazine will invite its own jurors who are leading figures in the global architecture field to select the outstanding projects and designers of the year.
In 2023, the jurors for the “Best Architecture Projects 2023” are Steven Holl and Toshiko Mori – two renowned and influential architects in the industry.
The rankings for the Best Architecture Projects 2023 include projects such as the Serpentine Pavilion 2023 by French-Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh, the new tower of Teatro alla Scala in Milan designed by Mario Botta in collaboration with Emilio Pizzi, Avia Studio international factory designed by OMA, and the Dao Mau Museum by artist Xuan Hinh in collaboration with Nguyen Ha and Arb Architects Vietnam.
The Dao Mau Museum has received praise from this magazine. It can be seen as a pride for Vietnam’s architecture industry as it stands among the world’s architects.
The Dao Mau Museum was built in collaboration between architect Nguyen Ha and artist Xuan Hinh. The project was realized with a progressive and innovative mindset, surpassing invisible barriers in creative thinking.
5 million old tiles were collected and refurbished over 5 years to preserve and honor the sacred space of a 50-year-old ancient garden. Being recognized by the leading architectural magazine, the Dao Mau Museum has brought a new position for Vietnamese architecture in the world.
Previously, international architectural awards in Vietnam were mainly granted to community-oriented, eco-friendly, and groundbreaking projects. This is a rare occasion where an architectural project with cultural identity is acknowledged.
