Impressive Export Growth of Vietnam Recognized by Uruguayan Media

Uruguay's El Popular newspaper has expressed its admiration for Vietnam's impressive export performance in January. The country saw a strong growth of 42% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching nearly $33.6 billion USD, the highest since April 2022.

According to TTXVN’s reporter in South America, Vietnam’s export turnover has increased significantly, thanks to two groups of products: agriculture-aquatic-forestry (up 97%) and processing industry (up 38%). Goods exported to major markets have shown good recovery in the first month of 2024. The United States is Vietnam’s largest export market with $9.6 billion, up 56% compared to the same period last year.

El Popular, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Uruguay, cited the Ministry of Industry and Trade as saying that Vietnam’s trade surplus in January reached $2.92 billion. It is forecasted that Vietnam’s trade turnover will grow by 6% in 2024.
