More Than 1.5 Million Passengers Arrive at Airports on April 30th Holiday

During the 5-day holiday of April 30th - May 1st, the volume of exploitation at airports under the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) is expected to increase significantly.

The Corporation of Vietnam Airports has announced that during the seven days from April 26th to May 2nd, the expected domestic exploitation output will be approximately 9,000 take-offs and landings, at an average of 1,285 per day (an increase of 16.5% compared to the average normal day in April of 2024, at 98% of the same period in 2023).

With this, the passenger output will reach an estimated 1,530,000 passengers, with an average of 218,600 passengers per day (an increase of 15-20% compared to a normal day in April 2024, and 98% compared to the same period in 2021).

April 26th is expected to be the peak day, with 1,530 take-off and landings, serving approximately 260,000 passengers.

The Aviation Authority also said that it is expected that Vietnamese airlines will supply approximately 900,000 seats and 9,000 flights on domestic routes during the peak of the April 30th – May 1st holiday. Of which, the flight routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to localities will have 3,400 flights, providing 657,000 seats, an increase of about 16% compared to normal days.

Specifically, Vietnam Airlines added over 100 domestic and international flights, with more than 15,000 seats, providing a total of 575,000 seats and 2,900 flights during the peak period from April 26th to May 2nd. Compared to the same period last year, the total number of domestic and international seats increased by more than 10% and 12%, respectively.

Vietjet plans to increase by 86,000 seats, equivalent to nearly 425 flights on tourist routes during this holiday season.

At Tan Son Nhat airport, the domestic take-off and landing output on the peak day is expected to reach 490, an increase of 25% compared to the average normal day in March 2022, at 98% of the same period in 2023; the passenger volume is 85,000, an increase of 20-24% compared to a normal day in April of 2024, and 96% of the same period in 2023.

At Noi Bai airport, the domestic take-off and landing output on the peak day is expected to be 370, an increase of 40% compared to the average normal day in April 2024, at 96% compared to the same period in 2023; the passenger volume is 63,000, an increase of 38-42% compared to the average normal day in April of 2024, and 97% of the same period in 2023.

The airports with expected high increases in output during the April 30th – May 1st holiday will be those that attract tourists, such as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, Phu Bai, Phu Cat, Lien Khuong, Dien Bien, Dong Hoi, and Con Dao.
