On March 6, Secretary of the Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen attended and delivered a speech at the conference on the economic and social review for the first two months of the year and set out the tasks for March, organized by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Nguyen Van Nen mentioned the trial of the Van Thinh Phat case.

According to him, this is a significant case that has not happened before in Ho Chi Minh City. It is a criminal and economic case involving a large number of people and a trial that lasts for 60 days.
The leader of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City stated that to prepare for the trial, all plans, programs, and contents have been scheduled in detail, with a focus on security, order, and communication.
“Up to now, all individuals involved in the case have been complying well. However, this is a big issue with international elements. Therefore, there needs to be close coordination from the media to security and trial proceedings. The trial must ensure the right person, the right crime, and the right law,” noted the Secretary of the Party Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen emphasized that the city needs to prepare plans for the execution of the verdict from now on.
The enforcement forces have also participated in the plans in order to immediately execute the verdict with legal value, without allowing the case to affect other matters.
Secretary Nguyen Van Nen highlighted, “Phase 2 will involve a large number of people, so communication work needs to be planned in detail for people to participate online, without concentrating all activities in one place, to avoid affecting other activities.”
He also requested that security and safety measures be timely in detecting and preventing any attempts to disrupt the trial proceedings.
According to him, during the 60-day trial, there will be some impact on economic and social activities, so there must be flexible plans and coordination based on the common awareness of all relevant units.
“We hope everything will go smoothly to achieve the final result and conclude this complicated and protracted matter,” said the Secretary of the Party Committee.
