Hot car discounts race after Tet: Honda City, CR-V, Hyundai Accent and a series of incredibly cheap cars, including a model selling for over 700 million.

According to a survey by reporters, since the beginning of 2024, the Vietnamese automobile market has continuously received information on price adjustments for many models. Of note, in addition to the regular price reduction promotions, this time there is also the participation of many car brands such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, Hyundai,… when announcing the official price adjustments.

Toyota

By the beginning of March, Toyota Vietnam (TMV) has announced the retail price adjustments for 2 models Toyota Veloz Cross and Toyota Vios with a maximum reduction of up to 47 million VND.

Toyota Vios G is currently discounted by 47 million VND, from 592 million VND to 545 million VND. Meanwhile, the E-CVT version receives a reduction of 40 million VND, with the new price being 488 million VND and the lowest E-MT version at 458 million VND (a reduction of 21 million VND).

Similarly, the MPV Veloz Cross, the Top CVT version is reduced by 38 million VND, bringing the price down to 660 million VND, the regular CVT version is reduced by 20 million VND, now priced at 638 million VND.

The above price includes 10% value added tax and applies to invoices issued from March 1, 2024.

This is not the first time Toyota has announced the official price adjustments for its cars. Since the beginning of January, the company has adjusted the selling price of 2 urban SUV models, Raize and Yaris. Specifically, Toyota Raize witnessed a reduction of 54 million VND, bringing the new selling price to 498 million VND. The versions of Yaris Cross are reduced by 73-80 million VND. The new price is now 650 million VND for the gasoline version and 765 million VND for the Hybrid version. For Toyota Fortuner, the assembled versions in the Vietnamese market have a listed price ranging from 1.055 billion VND to 1.35 billion VND, reduced by 64 – 120 million VND compared to the listed price in the previous year.

Honda

Honda Vietnam (HVN) has collaborated with the distribution system to implement a huge promotional program to attract buyers. Accordingly, customers buying cars at this time will receive special support with limited quantities when purchasing models produced in 2023, including Honda CR-V L/G and Honda City.

The B-class sedan – Honda City in the G and L versions are both supported by 100% registration fee, equivalent to a reduction of 55 million VND and 58 million VND, respectively. In addition, this model also receives an additional 30 million VND in cash support, bringing the total maximum discount to 88 million VND. Meanwhile, the RS version of Honda City receives a 50% registration fee reduction, equivalent to a reduction of 30 million VND along with 1 year of comprehensive insurance and many other incentives from the distributor.

As for Honda CR-V, customers buying the G version will receive a 100% registration fee reduction plus 30 million VND cash (excluding incentives from the distributor), equivalent to a price reduction of about 140 million VND. The L version of CR-V also has a 100% registration fee reduction (equivalent to 115 million VND) and comes with 1 year of comprehensive insurance.

The HR-V, Civic, and Accord models have a common 50% registration fee reduction and many other benefits. Specifically, Honda HR-V has a price range of 669-871 million VND, with a reduction in total costs ranging from 33-43 million VND. Honda Civic is priced at 730-870 million VND, with a reduction of 36-43 million VND, and Accord is priced at 1.319 billion VND, with a reduction of 66 million VND.

 Mitsubishi

According to the announcement from Mitsubishi Vietnam, the new promotional retail prices of Xforce are applied to all customers who place a deposit and purchase a car from March 2024 or have previously placed a deposit.

The new retail prices of the Xforce GLX version are reduced by 21 million VND to 599 million VND, the Xforce Exceed version is priced at 640 million VND (a reduction of 20 million VND), and the Xforce Premium version is reduced by 19 million VND to 680 million VND. The Ultimate version is expected to be launched in the market in June 2024, so the detailed price is not available yet.

Hyundai

Hyundai Thanh Cong has adjusted the selling price of the Creta urban SUV model with the highest reduction of up to 41 million VND.

Specifically, both the standard and premium versions of Hyundai Creta are reduced by 41 million VND, bringing the prices down to 599 million VND and 699 million VND respectively. The special version has a slightly lower reduction of 40 million VND, from 690 million VND to 650 million VND.

The retail price adjustment of Creta is carried out shortly after Mitsubishi Vietnam reduced the prices of Xforce (599-680 million VND). This is also a direct competitor to Creta in 2024.

In this segment, it is worth noting that the Kia Seltos is also listed at a starting price of 599 million VND for the Deluxe version, meaning that the 3 models including Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Mitsubishi Xforce all have a starting price of 599 million VND.

Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV) has just announced a promotion program applied to many models currently sold officially, including both assembled and imported cars. The company stated that these models are all produced in 2022 and the quantity is not much, customers who want to choose their preferred color need to contact the company’s dealer system.

The 3 versions of Mercedes-Benz C 200 Avantgarde, C 200 Avantgarde Plus, and C 300 AMG have new selling prices of 1.388 billion VND, 1.588 billion VND, and 1.888 billion VND respectively (equivalent to a reduction of 210-260 million VND compared to the original price).

For the E-Class range, customers at this time can save 270-320 million VND. After the discount, the highest-end E 300 AMG is priced at 2.888 billion VND.

In addition, all 3 versions of the GLE luxury 7-seater SUV also have a reduction of 669 million VND, bringing the prices to 3.889-3.999 billion VND. Mercedes-Benz GLB 200 receives a discount of 430 million VND, with the actual price being 1.658 billion VND.

It is worth noting that Mercedes-Benz Vietnam also includes the high-performance AMG models in the list of promotions. This is a rare occasion for these models to have discounts.

Accordingly, the AMG A 35 4MATIC (V1) is reduced from 2.429 billion to about 1.999 billion VND. The GLB 35 4MATIC model is reduced by 620 million VND compared to the listed price of 2.849 billion VND.

The AMG GT 53 4MATIC Coupe FL receives the highest discount of 719 million VND. After the discount, the price of this sports coupe ranges from 5.999 billion VND.
