The Volkswagen Teramont X made its first appearance as the Atlas Cross Sport Concept (concept car) at the New York International Auto Show, a 5-seater version of the successful 7-seater SUV Atlas in the US market, which was launched in 2017. The concept version was well received not only in the US, and in April 2019, the commercial version named Teramont X was officially launched in China – where Volkswagen holds the number one market share globally. Following the success of this model, Teramont X continued to be introduced to other major markets worldwide such as the US, Canada, and Mexico since October 2019.
