Apple has just announced the MacBook Air M3, a notable upgrade from previous versions. The MacBook Air M3 stands out with its slim and lightweight design, powerful performance, and high mobility, meeting the majority of mainstream users’ needs.

The accessories that come with the device include a charger, an adapter, and a MacSafe cable

The version we have in the article is in black color

The MacBook Air M3 continues to inherit the sleek and lightweight design from the previous generation. There aren’t many changes in terms of appearance, and the MacBook Air M3 retains the familiar look with its recycled aluminum body. There will be 4 color options for users to choose from, including silver, gray, black, and gold.

The device weighs 1.24kg, with dimensions of 21.5 x 30.41 x 1.13cm for the 13-inch model. The 15-inch model weighs 1.51kg, with dimensions of 23.76 x 34.04 x 1.15cm.

The MacBook Air M3’s display continues to use Liquid Retina technology, supporting a wide P3 color gamut and True Tone, ensuring true and comfortable colors for users in all lighting conditions. The screen size is 13.6 inches for the 13-inch version and 15.3 inches for the 15-inch version, with resolutions of 2560 x 1664 and 2880 x 1864 respectively, ensuring sharp and detailed images. This screen is suitable for both entertainment and professional graphic work needs.

The characteristic rabbit ear feature at the top of the screen, where the FaceTime HD camera is located, remains the same. Although it may be controversial in terms of aesthetics, it allows Apple to optimize display space while ensuring the quality of video calls.

The new MacBook Air is equipped with the Apple M3 chip, similar to the standard 14-inch Pro version. This chip is produced using the 3nm process, including 25 billion transistors, bringing upgraded performance and impressive energy efficiency.

The M3 chip is equipped with a 10-core GPU, increasing graphics performance by 65% compared to the M1, providing a smooth experience for heavy graphic tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering, and even gaming. In addition, the M3’s 8-core CPU, including 4 high-performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, allows for fast processing of heavy tasks, with CPU performance increasing by up to 35% compared to the M1.

Another highlight of the M3 chip is the improved Neural Engine, which is 60% faster than the M1 series, allowing the MacBook Air M3 to quickly and efficiently process machine learning and AI tasks. Along with that, support for ray tracing and mesh shading helps significantly improve image quality, delivering more realistic and vibrant images in applications and games.

GPU performance score

The MacBook Air M3 supports a maximum of 24GB of RAM (also referred to as Unified Memory) with the standard version having 8GB of RAM, and users can customize it up to 24GB with increasing prices. With its powerful performance, the MacBook Air M3 has enough power to meet the diverse needs of users, from basic office work to graphic design, video editing, and even gaming.

A new upgrade on the MacBook Air M3 is the ability to connect to two external monitors. This overcomes a major limitation of previous MacBook Air models, expanding workspace and enhancing productivity for multitasking users.

However, this feature comes with a trade-off: users can only connect to two external monitors when the built-in screen of the MacBook Air is closed. This means that if you want to output to two external monitors, you will have to “sacrifice” the built-in screen of the device. For some users, this could be a worthwhile trade-off to have more screen space. However, for others, the inability to use three screens simultaneously could be a limitation.

The MacBook Air M3 still uses the scissor-switch keyboard with a large trackpad, integrated with Touch ID fingerprint sensor supporting user information authentication

The MacBook Air M3 is available in the Vietnamese market with starting prices of 27.99 million VND and 32.99 million VND for the 13-inch and 15-inch models respectively, as listed on the Apple Store Online. This price is slightly higher than the current price of models using the M2 chip. In fact, for regular users with basic needs, the M2 or even the previous M1 models still perform well.
