The Postef multifunctional project – a complex of office, commercial, service, and high-end hotel facilities (91 units) – was studied on a plot of land of over 9,000 m2 in Dien Bien Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. Two design options were awarded second prize in the architectural competition for the project in August 2022.

The first option arranges the project according to the functional space angle, with the distances between the zones designed as wide entrances that open towards the interior courtyard. With this concept, the interior courtyard of the project receives sufficient natural light without being constrained by space.

The vertical facades are arranged slightly recessed along the 4 surrounding streets, ensuring a smaller sense of scale and lower height under the visual perspective of pedestrians passing by.

In addition, the project’s shell, considered the “core element” of the project, proposes the use of facades with creatively rich aesthetic details that flexibly connect with shared spaces.

The second option features spatial organizations that meet diverse requirements for the functions of the project while enhancing the unique values of Hanoi. This option maintains the embossed relief depicting a image of self-defense forces with the words “Hanoi residents shot down a modern American plane on the spot,” commemorating May 19, 1967.

According to the leaders of Dien Bien Ward People’s Committee, community opinions on architectural design solutions for 61 Tran Phu were gathered through various forms, such as: posting design options at the ward’s headquarters, on the electronic information portal of the district and ward, and distributing surveys at neighborhood meetings near the project.

After gathering opinions, the ward and the investor will hold meetings with residents living around the project to continue listening to feedback before finalizing the proposal for submission to the competent authority for approval.

Previously, on June 24, 2017, the Hanoi People’s Committee approved the investment policy for the Postef multifunctional project at land plot No. 61 Tran Phu, Dien Bien Ward, Ba Dinh District. The company has completed the procedures to start the project.

After dismantling the old structure dating back to the French colonial period, the “golden land” plot of over 9,000 m2 will be used to build an 11-story high-end commercial project, one mezzanine floor (maximum height of 42.9 m), 6 basements, with a total floor area of 75,329 m2. The investment cost is 1,574 billion VND.
