On March 18, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan signed an urgent document sent to major gasoline and oil business dealers; gasoline and oil distributors regarding the implementation of regulations on electronic invoices and the provision of electronic invoice data as regulated.
The document of the Ministry of Industry and Trade states that in Resolution No. 28 / NQ-CP dated March 5 of the regular Government meeting in February 2024, the Prime Minister tasked ministries, localities in March and the time to come to enhance urging, supervising, inspecting and strictly implementing the management, use of electronic invoices for business activities, retail of gasoline and oil.
The Prime Minister also assigned localities to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance to direct functional forces to consider handling businesses that sell gasoline and oil until March 31, 2024 without implementing the regulations on electronic invoices, including the request to suspend business activities and revoke licenses, Certificates of business conditions according to the provisions of the law.
Following the Prime Minister’s guidance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requested gasoline and oil businesses to comply with the provisions of the law on gasoline and oil business.
At the same time, issue electronic invoices for business activities, retail of gasoline and oil, especially in issuing electronic invoices at retail petrol stations for customers for each sale at retail petrol stations and provide electronic invoice data as prescribed.
Prior to that, the General Department of Taxation (Ministry of Finance) said that as of February 26, the whole country had 7,542 gasoline and oil retail stores that had implemented the issuance of electronic invoices for each sale as regulated. This number increased by 5,849 stores compared to December 1, 2023.
Of which, many localities have recorded high deployment rates, such as Bac Ninh reaching 100%, Dak Lak reaching 97%, Thanh Hoa reaching 95%, Yen Bai reaching 91%, Nam Dinh reaching 89%, Hai Duong reaching 88%, Ba Ria – Vung Tau reaching 83%, Quang Nam reaching 82%, Vinh Phuc reaching 81%,…
Currently, there are about 17,000 petrol retail stores nationwide. Therefore, nearly 9,500 petrol stations nationwide (accounting for 55.8%) need to promptly implement the issuance of electronic invoices for each sale as regulated by the Tax Management Law.
