PV GAS launches LNG supply chain to serve industrial production in Vietnam
On March 18, PV GAS officially deployed the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to serve industrial production in Vietnam.
The first LNG transportation in Vietnam, with a capacity of 100 m3, was shipped from the Thị Vải loading station (Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu) to the Thuận Đạo LNG gas re-gasification station (Long An) on March 15, marking an important milestone in Vietnam’s energy industry.
Following this shipment, PV GAS will supply LNG to customers using compressed natural gas (CNG) such as Oechsler Motion, Nam Hưng Steel, Petfood Evolution, Asia Steel, etc.
In preparation for the first LNG tanker deliveries to customers, PV GAS has made thorough preparations from infrastructure, equipment systems to high-quality professional resources over a long period of time, from import ports, storage warehouses to gas pipeline systems, tankers, re-gasification stations with modern equipment and technology…
Previously, in October 2023, PV GAS inaugurated the special-grade petroleum industry project – Thị Vải 1 MMTPA LNG storage. This event marked the remarkable efforts of PV GAS in the journey of green and environmentally friendly energy conversion. In 2023, this unit also welcomed the first LNG import vessel to Vietnam.
LNG has outstanding advantages in energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and convenience in transportation, with a stable supply source as committed by PV GAS.
Using LNG is also a way for businesses to demonstrate their responsibility, contribute to environmental protection, and contribute to the development of the country and society.
It is known that PV GAS will commence Phase 2 of the Thị Vải LNG storage with a capacity of 3 million tons/year, expected to be operational in 2026. In addition, PV GAS will also implement the Sơn Mỹ LNG central port warehouse project in Bình Thuận province with a total capacity of 6 million tons/year and implement LNG central port warehouse investment projects in the North Central and Northern regions.
In addition, PV GAS has also established agreements with leading LNG suppliers worldwide to ensure stable and competitive supply for the domestic market.
