On the international market, the price of gold is moving around 2,150-2,165 USD/ounce. Converted at the USD exchange rate at banks, the world gold price is equivalent to 64.5 million VND/tael, while converted at the USD exchange rate on the free market is equivalent to 66.5 million VND/tael.

From the level of 2,200 USD/ounce to the current level, the world gold price has been under pressure recently after US inflation data was announced last week. Higher-than-expected inflation has raised expectations that the US Federal Reserve will maintain a high interest rate stance for an extended period of time. This scenario has reinforced US treasury bond yields, boosted the recovery of the USD and put pressure on the yellow precious metal.
