A delegation of about 50 major US corporations is currently visiting Vietnam. This event demonstrates the continued interest of US businesses in our country’s economy. This is the largest delegation of US businesses to visit Vietnam since the two countries upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership in September 2023.
Many large US corporations are coming to Vietnam to expand their business cooperation.
Some notable faces in the delegation visiting Vietnam include technology firm Meta, aircraft manufacturer Boeing, and renewable energy company GE Vernova. In addition, Koch Industries, UL Solutions, Chubb Insurance Group, Roblox game company, ATMO weather forecasting provider, and AES Energy Company are also participating in the visit.
It is worth noting that many US businesses are currently operating in Vietnam. A prominent example is Meta with its Facebook app, which has 60 million users and has become one of the largest markets globally. Meanwhile, aircraft manufacturer Boeing has preliminarily agreed with Vietnam Airlines in 2023 to hand over 50 aircraft.
During their stay in Vietnam from March 18-21, the US business delegation will discuss opportunities for investment or business expansion with Vietnamese ministries, departments, localities.
On March 18 itself, US security companies have plans to discuss potential business opportunities with representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Public Security. At the same time, the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) and US Eximbank have signed an MOU worth 500 million USD to jointly study and explore opportunities for cooperation in medium and long-term credit/guarantees, promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
