According to a survey on the morning of April 18th on an online flight ticket sales website with the itinerary of departure date of April 27th and return date of May 1st, it shows that the flights from Hanoi to Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao, Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City to Dien Bien are almost sold out. However, there are still many cheap tickets available for some other tourist destinations departing from Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City with night flights.
Specifically, for the Hanoi – Da Nang flight, with the itinerary of departure date of April 27th and return date of May 1st, Vietnam Airlines is offering the cheapest ticket at VND 4.5 million/round trip (including taxes and fees); Vietjet also has tickets from VND 4.5 million/round trip.
Hanoi – Quang Nam flight, with the same itinerary but choosing a more convenient flight time, Vietnam Airlines has the cheapest ticket at nearly VND 5 million/round trip.
Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang flight, with the itinerary of departure date of April 27th and return date of May 1st, Vietnam Airlines is offering the cheapest ticket at VND 5 million/round-trip (including taxes and fees); Vietjet also has tickets from VND 4.5 million/round trip. Notably, Vietnam Airlines offers a 15% discount for groups of 4-8 passengers.
Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang flight, with the itinerary of departure date of April 27th and return date of May 1st, Vietnam Airlines is offering the cheapest ticket at VND 3.8 million/round-trip (including taxes and fees); Vietjet has tickets from VND 2.9 million/round trip. Bamboo Airways only has business class tickets left for the outbound flight, while economy class is still available for the return flight at VND 5.6 million/round trip.
According to the airlines, currently there are still available flights for domestic routes for the April 30th – May 1st holiday with various ticket prices.
To meet the travel demand during the April 30th – May 1st holiday and summer peak season, Vietnam Airlines has opened for sale many economy class tickets at attractive prices in the late evening slot, such as Economy Saver (from VND 1,724,000/leg or VND 1,929,000/leg, including taxes and fees) for the route between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City or Economy Saver on the routes between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, etc.
The airline has also increased the number of flights by more than 2,000 in the late hours after 9 pm daily on the routes between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, etc. to provide more options for passengers as supply is reduced due to engine recalls.
At the same time, Vietnam Airlines is rolling out many promotional programs during this time. Passengers who purchase full-fare economy class flexible or economy class standard tickets will get a 20% discount on economy class flexible or economy class standard tickets on the next purchase; a 10% discount for groups of 4 or more passengers; and a 15% discount for groups of 8 or more passengers; book early and get a 5% discount on domestic routes when booking 30 days prior to the departure date, etc.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, Vietjet will increase the flight frequency between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Dien Bien to 28 flights/week. Accordingly, the Hanoi – Dien Bien route will increase to 14 flights per week from May 3rd to 11th, in addition to 14 flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Dien Bien each week.
According to the airline, the booking rate is increasing quite rapidly. Vietnam Airlines said that for the first two days of the holiday (April 27th and 28th), the occupancy rate of many tourist routes has reached 70-90%, such as Hanoi – Hue, Chu Lai, Quy Nhon, Dong Hoi, Nha Trang; Ho Chi Minh City – Phu Quoc, Tuy Hoa, Dong Hoi, Da Lat, Van Don, etc. The flights from Hanoi to Da Nang and Phu Quoc have been more than half full and the number is expected to continue to increase sharply in the coming days.
