On April 12, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a symposium in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the series of events “Connecting the International Supply Chain” named Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024.
Mr. Ta Hoang Linh, Director of the Department of European and American Markets (Ministry of Industry and Trade), said that this year’s Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024 will take place from June 6 to 8 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2023, Viet Nam International Sourcing was first held in Vietnam and received attention from the domestic manufacturing and exporting business community to international distribution and import corporations from many countries around the world.
The event has brought a new perspective to international buyers (wholesale, retail) about Vietnam’s supply capacity.
“From the event, the fact shows that Vietnam is really becoming a new global factory, an important link and a strategic location in the regional Asia-Pacific global supply chain. If you want to diversify your supply, you can come to Vietnam.” said Mr. Linh with emphasize.

This year’s event also received the attention of large corporations worldwide. Food and beverage businesses; textile and garment; shoes, backpacks, and handbags; sporting goods and outdoor gear; housewares and furniture, etc. were selected to introduce to importers, wholesale groups and international buyers. They are all enterprises that have achieved international certificates, with high-quality products in industries where Vietnam has strengths and international distributors and retailers.
Throughout the three days of Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024, specialized seminars and useful business networking activities will be organized, with the participation of large corporations, typically such as Aeon and Uniqlo from Japan; Walmart and Amazon from the United States; Safeway from Canada; Falabella from Chile; Carrefour and Decathlon from France; Central Group from Thailand; Coppel from Mexico; IKEA from Sweden; LuLu from the United Arab Emirates, etc.
In addition to the goal of promoting exports, Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024 also offers supporting activities to help businesses improve their capacity and develop sustainably when entering the global market.
The series of events witnessed the participation of the system of Vietnamese Trade Offices and branches abroad. These units have widely promoted the event to importers, distribution channels and foreign business associations to invite international purchasing delegations to participate in various forms.
The event promises to attract 10,000 visitors and transactions with 300 international delegations from 30 countries and territories. The organizers also coordinated with several local Departments of Industry and Trade to bring purchasing delegations to investigate businesses in several localities.
“Hopefully, many trade deals and contracts will be successfully signed at the event, participating units will meet many partners and customers, and have more business ideas inspired after the seminars and business networking activities,” Mr. Ta Hoang Linh hoped.
Representatives of corporations such as Walmart, Central Group, Aeon, and Lulu highly appreciated Viet Nam International Sourcing 2023 and raised expectations for the 2024 program.
