HCM Metro Line 1 Test Run a Success with International Guests
On April 26th morning, Ho Chi Minh City organized two full-line trial runs of Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien). Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Bui Xuan Cuong, participated in the event. The special guests of this experience were Consuls General of various countries in Ho Chi Minh City.
Before the train departed, Deputy Chairman Bui Xuan Cuong introduced the Metro Line 1 project to the Consuls General of various countries in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong welcomed the Consuls General to visit and experience Metro Line 1. Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong stated that the large presence of foreign representative agencies in Ho Chi Minh City demonstrates the keen interest that international friends have in Ho Chi Minh City’s first urban railway line.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, this full-line trial run of Metro Line 1 is even more meaningful as it is being held on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day, and the 138th anniversary of International Labor Day.
Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong believes that the experiences on Metro Line 1 will help the Consuls General better understand Ho Chi Minh City’s future development orientation.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hien, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Authority, said that this is the first time Metro Line 1 has operated automatically. Accordingly, the train driver does not need to operate the train, and the train is prepared and operated entirely by an automatic system.
