The People’s Committee of Ward 7, District 10 (HCMC) has just launched the Japan Town Electronics and Electrical Appliances Street after a year of renovation.

This street is located on the routes of Japan Road, Vinh Vien, and Nguyen Kim with 258 business households.

Having been running a business on this street for 30 years, Mr. Hoai Thanh said that at first he only repaired game consoles, then switched to supplying and repairing speaker-related equipment. His shop, only a few square meters in size, has supported his family for decades. “The business has been sluggish for the past 2 years, with days when not a single item was sold because cheap electronics are now widely available online. The establishment of the street and its renovation have made local traders excited, hoping that business will improve,” said Mr. Thanh.

The local traders here specialize in technology, electrical appliances, and electronics with a variety of brands, qualities, and models. The Japan Town Electronics and Electrical Appliances Street can supply a large quantity of goods nationwide.

The local government is promoting cashless payments and the installation of camera surveillance systems for traders in this area, moving towards the establishment of a monitoring control center.

Various types of cameras, models, styles, and sizes are available in the neighborhood.

According to Mrs. Do Thi Uyen, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ward 7, the Japan Town market has now been transformed, no longer the Japan Town electronics market of the past but has become a reliable shopping destination, diverse in models and environmentally friendly business culture.

Before putting Japan Town Electronics and Electrical Appliances Street into operation, District 10 launched Health Street on Su Van Hanh Street.
