On the afternoon of May 2, the National Assembly held an extraordinary session to dismiss Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue from the position of Chairman of the National Assembly and to end his duty as a deputy of the 15th tenure.

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly unanimously assigned Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, to run the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the National Assembly while waiting for the completion of personnel.

Mr. Tran Thanh Man is 62 years old, from Hau Giang; Doctor of Economics. He is an alternate member of the 10th tenure, a member of the Central Committee of the Party for three terms 11-13; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party for the 12th tenure; Member of the Politburo for the 13th tenure; Delegate of the National Assembly for the three tenures 13-15.

Before being elected as Vice Chairman of the National Assembly in April 2021, Mr. Man had served as Chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
