In a concrete case, on the evening of May 2, from collected information and through verification and examination, Market Management Team No. 3 inspected a goods assembly area in Lung Lon Hamlet, Kien Binh Commune, Kien Luong District, Kien Giang Province, and discovered over 500 kg of raw shrimp of which the owner and legal manager could not be identified.

The team temporarily detained the shipment and coordinated with the Sub-Department of Quality, Processing, and Market Development and Kien Cuong Seafood Processing and Import-Export Joint Stock Company to identify and remove the agar impurities contained in this batch of shrimp.

On May 3, 2024, Market Management Team No. 11 of the Hanoi City Market Management Department coordinated with Team 7 of Division 03 of the Hanoi City Police to inspect a food business establishment at No. 6, Alley 4, South Road, Ky Thuy Hamlet, Bich Hoa, Thanh Oai, Hanoi.

At that location, the inspection team discovered that the establishment was trading 1,520 kg of food, including pig uterus, duck breast, and duck legs. When questioned by the inspection team, the owner of the establishment failed to present any documents, invoices, or certificates proving the origin of the food. Furthermore, this establishment did not have a business registration certificate as required by regulations.

Market Management Team No. 11 temporarily detained all of the aforementioned food for processing in accordance with legal regulations.

During the holidays from April 30 to May 1, an inspection team from Market Management Team No. 3, in collaboration with Team 7 of the Economic Police Division of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department and the Binh Chieu Ward Police, Ho Chi Minh City, inspected a goods trading location at Binh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

At the aforementioned goods storage and trading location, the inspection team discovered 7,800 kg of various frozen food products, including unused animal offal, with no invoices or supporting documents, no clear origin, no production date, no expiry date, and no labeling in accordance with regulations. The value of the infringing goods was 558,300,000 VND based on the listed price on the products.

According to a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Force, during holiday seasons, the demand for food and agricultural products among city residents increases. Taking advantage of this situation, some individuals, driven by personal profit and gain, have deliberately introduced food products of unknown origin and poor quality into the market, compromising health safety and even endangering the lives of consumers.

Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department has consistently strengthened market inspection and monitoring to ensure timely prevention of smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods in the food safety sector.

During the vehicle inspection, the market management force discovered 950 kg of frozen blue crabs in plastic baskets on the vehicle. When questioned by the market management force, the driver, Dang Duc Minh, stated that he owned the goods. Since he had purchased them on the black market to sell to restaurants as food, he did not have any documents to prove their origin.

Market Management Team No. 7 supervised the owner in destroying the entire shipment and reported to the Quang Ninh Provincial Market Management Department for punishment in accordance with legal regulations.
