Vinachem Chairman Nguyen Phu Cuong will retire from June 1, 2024, according to a decision signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang has signed Decision No. 293/QD-TTg on the retirement of Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vinachem. According to the Decision, Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong will retire from June 1, 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong was born in 1963. He was appointed as Head of the Science and Technology Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in November 2014.

On February 8, 2018, under Decision No. 188/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to assign and appoint Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong as Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vietnam National Chemical Group.

Looking back at the business results in 2023, Vinachem’s total revenue reached VND 57,408 billion, up 0.5% compared to the plan, with a pre-tax profit of VND 3,218 billion. The corporation contributed VND 1,805 billion to the state budget and ensured jobs for about 18,000 employees with an average salary of over VND 14.12 million per person per month.

According to Vinachem, 2023 was a challenging year for chemical enterprises due to unpredictable fluctuations in the world market. In the first six months of 2023, many units under the corporation reported losses.

In 2024, the Group sets targets for the value of industrial production (at actual prices) at VND 53,273 billion; combined revenue of VND 56,508 billion, up 2% compared to the estimate in 2023; and combined profit of VND 2,437 billion. Specifically, units under Scheme 1468 aim for a profit of VND 349 billion, while units not under Scheme 1468 target a profit of VND 2,088 billion. The Group plans to contribute VND 1,788 billion to the state budget and ensure an average salary of VND 13.13 million per person per month for its employees.
