## Thanh Hoa Province Witnesses a Tourism Boom: A Comprehensive Strategy for Future Growth
According to a report by the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the province’s tourist attractions welcomed approximately 9.8 million visitors in the first half of 2024, marking a 16.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The province’s tourism revenue also surged, reaching an estimated VND 20 trillion, a significant 30.2% jump from the previous year.
Vice Director of the Department, Ms. Vuong Thi Hai Yen, attributed these impressive results to the province’s focused efforts on strengthening linkages, promotions, and tourism campaigns targeting local governments and travel businesses nationwide. They also developed new tourism products and organized a plethora of cultural, sporting, and tourism events, captivating the interest of both local and out-of-town visitors.
The Department has been proactive in engaging with investors, staying abreast of project updates, and addressing challenges to facilitate smooth implementation. This has been crucial in creating a conducive investment environment, as they work closely with the provincial People’s Committee to resolve any obstacles faced by investors.
Thanh Hoa has also been actively promoting its tourism offerings across various platforms, including major domestic airports and international media outlets, to raise its profile as a desirable destination.
To achieve its ambitious targets of attracting 13.8 million visitors and generating VND 32,387 billion in tourism revenue for the year, Thanh Hoa will continue to forge linkages with key tourism development provinces such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Lam Dong. This will include hosting cultural events like “Thanh Hoa Culture Days” in these cities to showcase the province’s unique attractions.
In the latter part of the year, the province plans to host familiarization trips for travel agents and media representatives from the Southeast, Central, and Central Highlands regions to experience and evaluate Thanh Hoa’s tourism products firsthand. They will also welcome fam trips from Asian countries and hold workshops to discuss strategies for attracting international tourists to the province. Additionally, there are plans to promote Thanh Hoa’s tourism offerings in the Korean market and seek advice on refining its tour packages.
Throughout 2024, Thanh Hoa will continue to stimulate tourism demand by sustaining and enhancing 145 cultural, sports, and tourism events across the province’s tourist destinations. Among these are 85 cultural events, 30 sports events, and 30 tourism events, all contributing to the province’s message of “Thanh Hoa Tourism – The Scent and Color of Four Seasons.” These diverse events create a buzz and generate widespread interest, captivating both locals and visitors alike.
